I've just now looked at the CETIS RSS newsfeed, and there's an interesting article which appeared on the 28th regarding an automatic metadata generator, which I thought would interest folk here and maybe spark off a discussion as to the usefulness, or otherwise, of such a tool. The wrinkle about this beastie is that it tries to generate descriptive text automatically, not just the usual mime-type stuff. See:
Look ma, no metadata forms: http://www.cetis.ac.uk/content2/20050127043826
