Dear Katherine,
In attached you will find a paper which concern the house mouse spread
in western Europe. This paper is a revision of archaeological mice
occurences in order to draw a diachronic map of its diffusion from
Eastern to western Mediterranean. House mouse settle in western
mediterranean not before the Iron Age thanks to stowaway transport
during pheonicians and greek expansions. This study don't provide any
data regarding the UK but there is references about the house mouse
validated occurences in Northern France during the second half of the
1rst millenium BC. It would be interesting if UK provide earlier dates.
Could you please let me know if you find those references from UK.
All the best
