sorry to discourage you, but a slice thickness of 7mm in my opininion
will lead to such a huge partial volume effect that I would be very
careful in interpreting the results, to the point of probably not doing
the analysis at all.

The problem generally is that there is no one right way of doing things
in VBM. There are literally hundreds of messages on this list (most of
them from John ;) concerning pretty much every aspect of VBM. This might
prove very helpful (more than my comments above).
