You know, Rachel, I think the Playboy Philosophy column was before my time,
or I never paid attention to it--since I was not one of those, when I first
discovered the magazine, who claimed to read it for the articles, and I
haven't read the magazine in years, but you make me curious. If he does
still write it--or has it written for him--I wonder what he says.
And, yes, Garden City is close to Roslyn Heights. Amy Fisher was actually
slated to be a student at the college where I teach, but then she shot
Buttafuco's wife. (Colin Ferguson, by way or more LI trivia, the guy who
shot up the Long Island Railroad, was a student; one of my colleagues knew
him. And from what I hear, he was really scary then too.)
And I like the other poems from your book that are on the website, too.
Best--
Richard
