Waited to see how long it would take you:-). Stephen Dunn introduced me
to Edson 9 years ago. Of course I got both The Tunnel and The Tormented
Mirror. Read Edson was a head-turning experience even though I had no
idea (and still don't) what he was doing: which is to say I don't "get"
them either, but they fascinate me. Behind the apparently random
nutsiness that reminds me of a ramble from a psychoanalyst's couch,
there is a structure--probably there is a structure to an analysand's
session "riffs," but Edson is tighter.
As per usual for me, my first effort at prose poetry was my only
successful one, a nasty little thing called "Anatomy Lessons" that I
left on my website because the damn thing works. It made it into an
online erotica journal calling itself "Cleansheets" that I was surprised
to find is still going, even though the original editor, Mary Ann
Mohanraj, has long since gone elsewhere.
