Subject: Anticoagulants in Safety Critical Work
Hi Folks,
me again!
I have a query regarding employees who are taking Warfain & carrying out
safety critical work.
I work for West Midlands Fire Service & we have 2 Fire fighters who are
both on warfarin long-term. Neither wishes to retire, PTR's are 3.8 & 3.6 &
a risk assessment reveals minimal risk of head injury (as specified in ODPM
guidelines.
Does anyone know of any research or guidance on this matter?
It seems a real waste of skills & expertise to just medically retire these
chaps.
please help
Manda x
