The Department seeks to appoint two lecturers committed to teaching and
researching music within the context of contemporary culture. You should
be interested in combining theory with practice, and in interdisciplinary
approaches to music.
You could be a composer engaged in a range of genres; a musicologist or
ethnomusicologist with strong interests in performance, whether in
'classical', popular music or world music; or a music technologist with
both technical and musical knowledge of a range of current practice. You
will be expected to engage in research that has the potential to achieve
international excellence.
City's Department of Music is amongst the most highly rated in the UK with
