This is a multidisciplinary project involving to various degrees spectroscopies
(e.g. hyper-Rayleigh scattering and quantum chemical approaches in order to
caracterize newly synthesized organic molecules with large non-linear
responses such as the azolo-oxazolidines studied previously, see below.
These molecules have two stable states which can be switched either by
shining light on them (photochromisme) or by varying the acidity
of their environment (acidochromisme). They are thus candidates for many
industrial applications.
The successful candidate should be a national of the European Union and
should have a 5 year university degree equivalent to the French Master
or DEA (e.g. Diplom) in Chemistry or Physical Chemistry. His skills and
interests should be in the areas of spectroscopy and/or quantum chemistry
and eventually also in organic chemistry.
Candidates must apply before june 30, 2005 directly to Dr. Rodriguez,
best by phone or e-mail.
