Hi Dan,
Thank you and Martin for your comments. Regarding the splash page. I
completely agree. We plan to lose it in the next release. At the moment it
is a necessity with the system that we use (SSL's Index+) due to the fact
that the main page (like all the pages) is drawn dynamically from the
database. We're planning to implement short URLs soon, which will obviate
the need for the splash
best wishes,
Matthew

Hi Matthew,
I agree with Martin's positive comments - nice clear layout of the results,
and the variety and volume of content is immediately apparent (although the
main page almost had a 'where do I start?' feel, the first time I went to
it). I also thought the square options under the search box were
checkboxes, rather than direct links.
My one minor gripe is with the initial 'splash' page - the meta-refresh is
against WAI WCAG checkpoint 7.5 (not everyone can read at the same speed),
and I always question the need for automatic redirects - if the page isn't
necessary, then remove it from the user's journey, and take them straight
to the main page.
On the whole, it looks great!
Thanks,
Dan
