At Leeds we use the Metrologic Scanpal for over 3 years, and they have
worked fine for us.
However at Umbrella last week, I was quite taken by the Telepen offering
(as desribed below by Martin) which looks to have a slightly more
ergonomic arrangement for scanning (from the side rather than the end).
Apparently it can also operate in online mode as a wireless scanner
connected to a PC, which has attractions.
But whatever you do, do check it supports the symbology(ies) you need.
