Hello
I have recently joined the listserve. And would appreciate any
pointers or advice on where else to get information from.
I've just started a new post (with no predecessor) in a British
International School in Thailand as Resource Manager and a remit to
'develop the Library'. The School goes from early years to IB post
sixteen, and basically there is a room with some books in most of
which are Dewey catalogued.
Thats pretty much it!
My background is Museum Education and I've a primary PGCE but I'm new
to the Library side of things and never worked in a school with a
decent library.
Anyone replying to Lesley's request please could you also cc me in?
In addition any help with these questions would be VERY much appreciated!
1. Does anyone have a good document of the Role of a School Librarian?
2. How much time should be devoted to actual teaching sessions?
3. Does anyone have any good schemes of work for Library skills for KS1 and 2
4. Would anyone be willing to let me have a copy of their School
Library/Resource policy?
5. Any information on approaches to Cataloguing resources and
additional ways of labelling books to help students access what they
want, would also be really helpful
If this is the wrong kind of forum, my apologies, any help on finding
some good contacts would help me lots!
Many thanks in anticipation,
