Dear Ann,

In response to your query on the "Briefings" titles:

If you have subscribed to "Briefings"* content via EBSCOhost, their full
text and bibliographic database product, please contact EBSCO regarding
continued access to the volumes to which you have subscribed. Please
note that from 2006 onwards no additional Briefings content will be
added to this product. Alternatively, if you have subscribed to and
accessed the Briefings* content via EBSCOhost Electronic Journals
Service this will continue as the journals will be incorporated into the
arrangement that we have.

From January 2006, all subscribers to the Briefing journals online, via
Oxford Journals or Proquest, will have access to the complete back
archive.

*Briefings in Bioinformatics and Briefings in Functional Genomics and
Proteomics

So will this affect our access? Looks like we get these via one of the
ebscohost dbs. I can't remember if Oxford has pulled out of there or
not...impossible to keep up with the daily changes.

Oxford Journals to publish two 'Briefing' titles from 2006

Oxford Journals, a division of Oxford University Press, has announced
the purchase of two titles from Henry Stewart Publications, Briefings in
Bioinformatics, and Briefings in Functional Genomics and Proteomics. The
Briefings titles join Oxford's leading collection of Life Science titles
from 2006.

Each Briefings journal publishes commissioned reviews in four issues per
year, acting as an international forum for techniques and approaches to
research in the Life Sciences, and providing practical guidance to
working biologists. The two titles encompass major areas of contemporary
molecular biology - bioinformatics, genomics and proteome research.

"We're delighted to add the Briefings titles to our Life Sciences list,
which already includes leading publications such as Bioinformatics,
Nucleic Acids Research, and Human Molecular Genetics" commented Claire
Saxby, Editor, Biomedical Sciences, Oxford Journals. She continued,

"The Briefings journals publish high quality review articles written by
experts. Subjects covered are among the fastest moving in molecular
biology which means that up-to-date overviews are essential for the many
researchers who need to stay informed of developments.

"As part of the world's largest University Press, we seek to disseminate
the highest quality research to the widest possible audience, and we
work hard to support the wider research community. The Briefings
journals provide key support for Life Science researchers, including
non-specialists or newcomers to these fields, and we will work hard to
widen the reach and impact of both titles to benefit this community."

Oxford Journals will publish Briefings in Bioinformatics and Briefings
in Functional Genomics and Proteomics from 2006.
