Oxford University Press launches new journal of Intellectual Property law

Oxford University Press is delighted to announce the launch of a new Intellectual Property journal. The Journal of Intellectual Property Law and Practice, (JIPLP) will publish peer-reviewed research across the full range of substantive IP topics, including practice-related matters such as litigation; enforcement; drafting and transactions; and relevant aspects of related subjects such as competition and world trade law.

JIPLP aims to become an essential resource for lawyers and attorneys working in intellectual property law, patenting and trademarks, as well as academics specialising in IP, members of the judiciary, officials in IP registries or regulatory bodies, and institutional libraries. Subject-matter will be of global interest, with a particular focus upon IP law and practice in Europe.

Wencke Boerrigter, senior Law editor, Oxford Journals, commented "Oxford Journals' Law collection stands at the forefront of legal enquiry and research, and has grown significantly in the past year, with the acquisition of the Human Rights Law Review, and the Chinese Journal of International law, and the launch of Journal of Competition Law and Economics in 2005." She continued,

"We're delighted to be publishing this new title, in what is an increasingly significant area of law right around the world. The twin drivers of developing technology and trade-related policy will ensure that intellectual property continues to be a major focus for legal developments and academic analysis, to which the new journal will respond and contribute."

JIPLP will be edited by Professor Jeremy Phillips, and will also benefit from the experience and insights of its distinguished editorial board, whose members include both practitioners and academics across Europe, the US and other key jurisdictions.

"I am delighted to be working with OUP in launching JIPLP, a journal that is unashamedly dedicated to discussing the most original ideas, the most creative solutions and the most powerful analysis of current events that drive intellectual property practice today," commented Professor Jeremy Phillips, Editor JIPLP.

JIPLP is now online, with advanced access available to the latest articles. The first print issue will be available from the end of November 2005.
