Bit of a tricky one this, at first we thought that it might be that you
have got upper and lower case letters in your dns. Now we think that it
could be "hostname"
Can you see what "hostname" returns on the mon box.

The log file was empty and tomcat was running. Restarting tomcat
resulted in
