Less widespread than Spanish, the Portuguese language has produced some of
the world’s most remarkable writers. Margaret Jull-Costa, translator of
Nobel laureate José Saramago and of best-selling Brazilian novelist Paulo
Coelho, will appear in conversation with David Treece, translator of,
among others, Brazil’s classic modernist João Guimarães Rosa. Join them in
their discussion on the peculiarities of translating into English from the
language of Camoens and Pessoa.
