This issue has just caused a major bust-up in our practice. I took the
same line as you, but a colleague felt equally strongly that we should
sign on the dotted line and authorise a PCT community pharmacist to
come in, run the searches, and write to the patients to tell them
their medication is being changed. It would be immoral not to save
money when the NHS is so short of it.
I'd be interested to hear what other people think.
