Hi
(1) Un chien Andalou was in 1929 - I would hardly
consider it contemporary; and in any case
(2) I don't agree about the film being "non-linear" -
defining linearity as spatial and/or temporal
organisation in a particular order. It has its wild
moments, obviously, but keeping in mind (a) its
Surrealist aims and (b) its depiction of a
psychoanalysis of repressed sexuality, the film I
think has a relatively coherent cause-effect chain of
events.
