Speaking of ScFi, yesterday I went to see What the Bleep Do We Know? I was
wondering if anyone would care to comment on the kind of science this film
proposes. While it discusses quantum physics, does it really adhere to what
in the social sciences is called the scientific method? Not that I expect a
definitive answer. It seems to me the film does a brilliant job of
obfuscating the assumed line between fact and fiction. Does this not bring
us into the realm of the philosophical?

Subject: Moving on to the topic of Sci-Fi
In response to Chris' call from marble venus.net to move on to a new topic,
let me pose one...why are so many of us (by that I mean "philosophers")
attracted to science fiction? Is it just coincidence that I was so
fascinated by Sci-Fi as a kid, and that I was caught up by philosophy almost
as quickly (for what might be similar reasons).
Please advise.
