CALL FOR PAPERS
The British Society for Phenomenology Annual Conference April 7-9 2006
(St Hilda’s College Oxford)
THE WRITINGS OF SLAVOJ ZIZEK
The work of Slavoj Zizek is closely associated with Lacanian psychoanalysis
and political theory. However, anyone who has read his work will know that
is almost impossible to categorise, due to its originality and the
abundance of the ideas and insights it presents in the context of a genuine
interdisciplinarity. He is unusual today in his ability to addresses the
political and ethical issues that engage us all. The aim of the conference
is to celebrate the full breadth of his writing, so we have not limited the
theme of the conference to any one topic.
Zizek himself will be speaking at the conference, and there will be seven
other speakers, some of whom will be specially invited and some of whom
will be drawn from this call for papers.
Please send an abstract of 300-400 words to:
