Dear Sir or Madam:
Wildlife Research Expeditions to the Amazon Rainforest
and Career Opportunities in the Field
Your students can gain valuable fieldwork experience as an active member
of Global Vision International research expedition during their summer
break or after their studies. Expedition members are required to join the
GVI research team throughout the year to participate in biodiversity
studies in a remote area of the Ecuadorian Amazon. GVI is particularly
interested in recruiting students from the fields of environmental
sciences, zoology, biology and other such related degree courses. Please
share this information with your students (and fellow lecturers).
Expedition Focus
The expedition aims to develop a comprehensive species list of the
amphibians, reptiles, birds, mammals and vegetation of this area of
pristine rainforest. Expedition members are needed for periods of 5, 10
and 15 weeks. Research activities include; mammal and amphibian research,
vegetation surveys, bird identification, recording bird song, GPS mapping
and management of the trail system and community education programmes. No
experience is necessary as the GVI training programme will provide a base
line and holistic understanding of all aspects of the rainforest and
Amazonian life.
This Global Vision International expedition works with the following
organisations;
