I've replied to Paul directly about this with some specific contact
information, but for information, the standard professional practice when
dealing with artefact disposal is to place an advertisement in "Museums
Journal" offering the artefact free of charge to a suitable museum. The MJ
has a specific classified section for this kind of advert: "Disposals,
Awards, Acquisitions and Information" if I remember rightly.
Cheers

Subject: CT Scanner needs a new home
Dear list,
Here at the EMI Archive we have a Mk1 CT Scanner which desperately needs a
new home! It was the first CT Scanner to be put into use in this country
(at Atkinson Morely Hospital) and is thus an extremely important piece of
medical history.
I appreciate that this is not perhaps the best place to advertise such an
offer, but i'm sure there are people who may have a few thoughts on the
matter.
regards,
Paul Lilley
