I’M AN ARCHIVIST – GET ME OUT OF HERE!
Would you rather spend a fortnight in the jungle eating worms with Jordan
than give a talk to a visiting group?
If the thought of standing up in front of a group gives you sleepless
nights then this course is for you. Led by Lisa Broadest (West Yorkshire
Archive Service) and Jenny Moran (Northamptonshire Record Office) of the
Archives for Education and Learning Group it aims to provide a basic guide
to planning a group visit from selecting material to security issues. It
will also give ideas and tips on keeping control and some dos and don’ts
that will help your visit to run smoothly.
The sources discussed will tend to be those found in local authority
archives, but the general information is likely to be relevant to
archivists from other types of repository.
