Public Health Information Analyst

This new post has been created following a review and restructuring of the
department. It is an exciting post that is designed to bring information
and intelligence to support the public health functions of the PCT and its
partners: improving the health of Havering people, providing quality health
services, and reducing health inequalities. The work involves the
collation, analysis, interpretation and presentation of information on
health, healthcare and health determinants to support service development
and health improvement programmes and the review and prioritisation of
investments in healthcare. Your role will be to provide expert analysis and
advice, using a wide range of datasets and systems. You will support PCT
functions including commissioning, service capacity planning and
performance management, public health, health needs assessment and primary
care data. Additionally, you will be involved in shaping local information
strategies to support understanding and delivery of the information
requirements for new NHS agendas, especially service modernisation and
National Service Frameworks.
You will possess a relevant degree (or equivalent) in a health related
subject, medical statistics, social science or other appropriate field,
have excellent communication and presentation skills and be willing to
commit to advanced professional training in public health.
