I'm looking for a Cardiac Troponin assay (T or I) for research purposes
on (very) small samples from rats and mice. I have been using TnT on
Elecsys in my clinical lab, which works well on rat and mouse samples,
but is inconvenient (2 blocks from research lab). Space and cost are
issues. I'm considering Cardiac Reader, but cost per test is
prohibitive and sample size is a bit high (both probably true of all POC
Tn assays). We have an Analette in the research lab and theoretically
Tn might be done with a turbidometric assay, but I doubt we can get the
sensitivity required. An ELISA might be suitable. Any suggestions for
small instruments with inexpensive reagents, turbidometric methods for
Tn, or any commercially available Tn ELISAs? Thanks. -Jim
