i can see where you are coming from. but i see the situation slightly
differently.
i thought (and think) the emotions surfaced need attention. the scoring
points etc are only the symptoms? so instead of 'breaking' the flow of it,
(like taking cough medicine) just let it run its course. it always ends.
and in my observation, this list is very resilient and is able to recover
from bouts of unpleasant-tedious-sad exchanges.
although i agree that the content of the emails are not the most
insightful, i thought (and think) that we - as a discussion group - are
not only dealing with 'ideas', but also with one another as people. as
such, there will always be joy and pain.
