Dear Glenn, Terry, and colleagues!
Re: 'knowledge producer'
In French, a distinction is made of 'knowledge', or any other
artifact, "concepteur/créateur" of a given and specific piece of
knowledge or artifact, i.e. one who "conceive" it, from the one who
materially produce it, i.e. "le producteur", manufacturer, etc.
Would this distinction be carried on in English as well, so that, in
your "third discourse", that of "knowledge producers", there would
be a "fourth discourse" imbedded, yet totally distinct from
the "producers" and the "users", that of knowledge (or
artifacts)"conceivers"?
