Thank you to every body who responded.
My new year's resolution to stop sending paper reports to people who
don't look at
them, because they have electronic reports, seems to be shared by many
others.
The responses to my questions were as follows;
1) Stopped sending paper reports to all GPs.................nobody
2) Stopped sending paper reports to some GPs............ two (three
labs were looking into this)
3) Stopped sending paper reports to all hospital
locations..............one
4) Stopped sending paper reports to some hospital locations..........
one
Several labs, like ourselves, could not switch off paper reports to
individual GP locations.
Our GP electronic reports piggy-back onto our paper reports. We can't
currently switch off
paper reports without switching off electronic reports.
The suggestion of sending reports to a dummy printer or screen sounds
good; but apparently
it won't work with TelePath.
We are left with printing the reports and shredding them. Not very high
tech or labour saving!
(Carlisle, post storm, is very low tech at the moment: no electricity
at home for 55 hours so far !)
Regards, Wayne Bradbury.
