This sounds suspiciously the same as all the "please confirm your details" emails I get purporting to be from various banks - Westpac, Commonwealth, National, Citibank, BNP, St. George's, ANZ, Banl of America etc. etc. as well as from PayPal and similar organisations. All worded virtually the same way - all completely nasty attempts to get hold of your details for nefarious reasons.
I get occasional ones sneaking through to my work address and numerous ones to my private email address.
Bit of a pain but just an indication of the world as we know it! ;->)
Cheers all,
Ken

David asked: ".... Has anyone else on this list received a spoof email purporting to come from
eBay asking for details and looking very much like an official email..... "
