Keith that is exactly the point, the evidence of theory is in practice
and it is in their doing/being that one can see how theory intersects
with practice and it is likely to be constitutive and relational. So a
good account is what? Is it a well formed logical argument? Is it a well
formed narrative? Does it explain cause or reveal the experience of
causality.
Pimps may give "Good" accounts of football games. They may have an
intimate knowledge of them, they may know how to tell a good story, or
they may relate factual data. What stands for a 'good' story may have a
lot more to do with the hearer.
And yes dialectics not only fears nothing it may embrace everything in a
critical process Lather called 'negative rigour' - the refusal to accept
there is one correct understanding.

Dear Jan
I'm cool with the law of the excluded middle - dialectics fears nothing.
I'm not sure that the sociology is all that interesting. Pimps may give
good accounts of football games - clients may give good accounts of
their mother's cooking and working girls may be excellent singers of
popular songs.
In their doing/being they evidence theory in practice - this I am
interested in.

And the big but is in one mode you are correct, but in another A can be
and at the same time not be B.
Which is more correct the pimp's description, the clients description,
or the prostitute's description?
