While it is true that the _Stabat mater_ is very commonly ascribed to
Jacopone (esp. in popularly written works of reference, liner notes, and
other genres where repetition of what one has read often substitutes for
fresh consideration of the matter at hand), many students of medieval
Latin hymnology or of medieval Latin literature more generally are
either sceptical of this attribution or else reject it outright. So
perhaps better to say, "most notably the Stabat Mater (if that really is
his)".
