I think David raises an important point about how this list is going
to function. I would prefer it to continue doing what it's been
doing - raising issues, asking questions, and generating discussion.
I'd like to see more discussions being raised - even debating issues
like David raised about questionnaires as a method.
That would help me more in my work, and increase my skills as a
community/critical psychologist.
As someone who uses questionnaires extensively I'd share David's
concerns that recruiting via a list like this does have limitations
(although this doesn't mean you can't 'sample' in this way).
Perhaps if people are happy to be approached to be in research via
this list they could make themselves known (or even create a separate
list to be contacted on!).
Whilst I want to support people doing research, I prefer to be on a
list where we can discuss issues, increase awareness, and improve our
practice; rather than recruit into research.
