I am not sure this discussion is going anywhere, but it's fun anyway. To take
it another step: How about Philistines? Did you know that the Philistines
were just super early Vikings who came to stay like the Normans did in Normandy
and Sicily? Several years ago I said this to a well known Israeli archeologist,
Amnon Ben Tor, and jokingly gave several examples of my evidence for this--the
swan figure heads, the long boats, the fact that they apparently used iron
which came from Northern Europe. Ben Tor continued the list with several other
parallels between the Vikings and the Philistines, including the fact that one
group of Philistines were called 'Dane.' By the time our discussion was
finished, I wasn't sure either of us was still joking. I subsequently came up
with a translation of the Phaistos Disk (Spelling? It was long ago.) based on
it being a Nordic language. Before I published my version someone else
published an entirely different translation which I have serious doubts about.
