We are currently looking at holiday quotas and would be interested in having an
insight into how other authorities manage holidays - especially at peak times
such as Christmas and during the summer. I would particularly like to know:
Do you have a set quota for full and part time staff?
Are holidays allocated on a first come first served basis or prioritized?
Are job-shares counted as full or part timers?
Do you have a maximum number of supervisors allowed off at any time or are all
staff counted into the same allocation?
Do you employ seasonal staff to cover for holidays or ask part timers to work
extra?
Who oversees/manages the holiday applications?
Any information at all would be extremely helpful. If replies come directly to
me I will summarize for the list.
