Dear All
I've just got back from the Inaugural TSG Post-Grad 'Research in Progress'
Meeting, in Leicester, which was great! A number of PhD students presented
their ongoing research, ranging from people nearing the end of writing up,
to people who had only just started. I was really impressed by the
enthusiasm and knowledge of the presenters. I was also impressed by the
quality of the debate which went on after the talks. Because it was such a
small and informal event there was penty of space in the timetable to let
discussion and debate really get going, and I think all the presenters
found this encouraging and useful. The feedback I heard from the students
who attended (including one Leicester undergrad!) was very positive. I hope
that TSG will carry on supporting this event in the future, and would
recommend that people encourage their students to go along at any stage of
their PhD.
Many thanks to Graham Andrews for putting so much effort into organising
such a successful event.
Cheers
Zoe
