A couple of years ago, my wife and I were looking up at the incomplete Throne of
Mercy image of the Trinity on the facade of the Church of St Wulfran in Abbeville --
God the Father supporting the crucified Christ, with the dove between them missing
-- when a white dove settled on Christ's head, right where the missing Holy Spirit
should have been. Nobody in the Middle Ages would have regarded these incidents
as coincidences!
