It is interesting. Can I ask, are you confident that there's a direct
causal relationship?
Also, it's curious that two key words are still in here - 'joining' and
'membership'. Add to that the word 'Audience' from Janice's job title
and it makes me feel maybe we're just at the beginning, not the end of
our thinking on this.

Interestingly, in Essex we removed all requirements for proof of
identity when joining the library in 2003, which has resulted in an
increase of membership and no corresponding loss of stock.
