> Well, yes, this site _is_ biased. ....If the bias is readily observable --
as it certainly is in the case of The Army of God, an organization that
supports assassins of health care providers who have performed abortions --,
then little is to be gained by calling attention to it.
on the contrary: it looks like the http://www.armyofgod.com/Mohameddemons.html
page is dead, as is, apparently, the whole site http://www.armyofgod.com .
at least i can't get either one of them to come up.
(here's the cache copy of the page, without the .jpgs, which are also no
longer on the site:

)
i'll be happy to take credit --with a little help from others on this list who
may have visited the site after my post called attention to it-- for
deepsixing that particular bit of hate siteing on the web.
> That fresco, BTW, is readily visible in S. Petronio's Bolognini Chapel.
I spotted its "Machomet" legend and detail the very first time I visited
the basilica.
that may have been the artist's intention.
or the intention of his patrons.
sometimes happens, in middlevil art.
or, even in "Renaissance" art.
>I also was [interested] in finding a less vindictively worded
English-language site combining a reproduction of the detail with news
accounts of the 2002 incident.
well, thanks to my dilligent efforts, we no longer have the pretty good .jpg
from the AoG site, but here's a Reuters story from 6/24/2002 on the threatened
attack:
http://www.buzzle.com/editorials/6-24-2002-20970.asp
and one from The Telegraph:
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/main.jhtml?xml=/news/2002/06/24/wfresc24.xml
there was an article in The Times as well, but it is no longer available for
free, and it's strictly against my religion to pay for anything on a site
owned by Rupert Murdoch.
best from here,
