I"m not an expert, but in looking at my geneological research, it seems that
this may be the opposite - the status of the members may determine where the
services can be performed. For instance, my great great aunt and uncle were
married in the chapel because although he was a Catholic, she was
non-denominational but baptized Christian and thus could not be married in
the church proper.
