Well, not really, Marjorie old bean. Despite the occasional updates,
the Catholic Encyclopedia, originating as you rightly say from 1907, is
now quite dated. One only has to pause for a moment to think of the
monumental changes that have taken place in the Catholic Church since
1907 to realise that a much more radical update is necessary, such as
has in fact been provided by the New Catholic Encyclopedia. The
Catholic Encyclopedia is online, surely, because it is safely out of
copyright.
