EPIDEMIOLOGIST (Fixed term to March 2007)
Salary in the range £22K to £30K Full time
Based within Cambridge Centre for Epidemiology, Cambridge UK
The current explosion of information on how genetic factors affect disease
means there is a crucial need to provide systematic reviews of the emerging
evidence to inform research priorities and NHS policy. We need an
epidemiologist to join our team working on applied and methodological
research in this exciting area. Working in a truly multidisciplinary
environment, and housed in the Cambridge Centre for Genetic Epidemiology,
you’ll have close links with academic colleagues working in the University
of Cambridge, the MRC Biostatistics Unit and other associate organisations;
and the opportunity to work on some challenging and innovative projects.
You will need a professional qualification in epidemiology, genetics or a
closely related discipline (preferably PhD or MSc). Your work will focus on
genetic risk and on combined effects of genetic and environmental factors.
You will also need excellent writing and presentation skills to contribute
to our active knowledge transfer programme.
We offer flexible working, a great working environment and a range of
employee benefits.
