medieval-religion: Scholarly discussions of medieval religion and culture
I mean it in the OED's sense 2a: "Originating in fiction, created by the
imagination, fictitious." (Sense 1 is active; e.g., 1b: "Adapted to or
concerned with the creation of fiction; imaginatively creative"). This
S. (cf. de Gaiffier, op. cit. in my previous post) is thought to have
been suggested by the 10th-century king of the same name, who was in
fact assassinated.
Best again,
John Dillon
