>interesting text, devoted to the church of Santa Sabina on the Aventine in Rome, a late antique gem that came into the at least de facto possession of the Savelli family and that in 1218 was given by one of the Savelli popes (Honorius III) ...
>
Honorius III is no more believed to be a Savelli, since Helene Tillmann
pointed out that this affiliation first appears in 1557 in Panvinio?s
Epitome pontificum Romanorum, who apparently invented it, cf. Helene
Tillmann, Ricerche sull?origine dei membri del collegio cardinalizio nel
XII secolo (III), in: Rivista di storia della chiesa in Italia 29 (1975)
363-402, cit. pp. 391-393.
As far as I know recent research (Sandro Carocci, Werner Maleczek,
Mathias Thumser) agrees with her.
