medieval-religion: Scholarly discussions of medieval religion and culture
Sorry for the delay, but I just got back from a working vacation, and am
still trying to catch up.

Yes, we practice vicarious baptism in behalf of our ancestors in temples
around the world.

When I was looking to update the thesis I wrote at UConn, I came across a
series of articles in the Catholic Biblical Quarterly by Bernard M.
Foschini, "Those Who Are Baptized for the Dead". I read vol. 13 (1951), pp.
4678. There were two previous installments which I did not get.
RAMBI give a slightly more recent article in Studia Evangelica 4 (1968) by
Josephine Massyngbaerde Ford, but I haven't gotten that one yet.

?!? I've heard a lot of fundamentalist preaching before, but nothing so
close to bibliolatry before.

Probably because of our "No horse too dead" philosophy.
Anyway, hope the short comments above are helpful, albeit late.
