A little clarification on the issue of accessibility....
As Phil pointed out the UK LOM Core makes no recommendations regarding the use
of accessibility metadata. However each draft of the profile includes an
Accessibility Metadata section written by Sharon Perry, CETIS Accessibility
SIG Coordinator. This section provides a summary of all relevant
accessibility metadata developments, including those mentioned by Andy H. The
intention is to provide implementers with sufficient information to make an
informed judgment based on their own requirements and the work currently being
undertaken by various standards bodies. As these developments come to
fruition we'll hopefully update the UK LOM Core accordingly and if any
particular accessibility metadata schema becomes widely adopted we would
certainly recommend it's use to the UK educational community.

PS All this metadata is making me hungry, I'm off for lunch!

An issue here for me is accessibility.
If we had made all the decisions (we're close)
I could then look at the proposed mandatory elements list and
see how it matched up.
My report to CEN-ISSS WS-LT on this is due the end of July.
If someone on here also on aplr (a few people are)
wanted to take on responsibility to see
how the places where we decide to put accessibility
stuff match up to this list and follow the discussions through
on both fora it would be quite useful
Hello Andy, all.
I don't think there will be much of a match. The UK LOM Core has always
had an note in it saying that accessibility issues will be considered
when...errr...somebody else has done it [sorry, this rather loose
paraphrase does Lorna an injustice!] Any overlap will be accidental or
coincidental.
What would be interesting for this list is to know (roughly) how many
mandatory elements the APLR work proposes and the rationale behind
having mandatory elements.
