medieval-religion: Scholarly discussions of medieval religion and culture
All,
Sorry about that previous repete of still more
previous messages. I still have difficulty distinguishing
my "delete" button from my "send" button.
At the 30th International Congress on Medieval
Studies, Fred Cheyette of Amherst and Bailey
Young of the St. Brendan's Society presented
a paper to the Pseudo Society on "Pre-Columbian
Hiberno-Irish Settlement in New England" in which
these shrines featured quite prominently. I'm
sure all list members who were in attendance that
evening will recall their lucid and penetrating
discussion. Unfortunately, I believe the paper
remains unpublished. The first volume of the
society's proceedings covers papers only up to
1993, and this was read in 1995. All the more
reason, then, to hope for the rapid publication
of volume two.
Yours still unsure of where to click,
Frank
