Dear Stuart Glenday,
Your message, by implication, says that you have had no success with the
IGM, including its Archives, in Florence
[http://www.nettuno.it/fiera/igmi/igmit.htm]. Is this true, and you would
like other Lis-maps subscribers to supply your wants?

Subject: Request for information on Italian mapping
Dear All,
I am looking for information on Italian mapping, specifically I wish obtain
an
index of the maps for Southern Italy south of 42 degrees latitude that I can
distribute within a University to members of the Geological Department.
My primary interest is generate a list of all the IGM series mapped in the
1950's (series 4?), primarily at 1:25000 scale.
Any information on the status of the new series mapping which is ongoing
would
also be of interest as well as older series (Late 1800) and maps of 1:50000
and
1:100000.
I want to generate a very basic list indicating the title and IGM sheet name
for
identification and cataloguing purposes, but any additional Dublin core type
information would also be important to have.
I would be interested in obtaining this as a digital list or in a format
that
could be OCR'd to produce a digital list. I have searched the internet for a
suitable index that I can cut and paste but have not found one, perhaps one
of
the members of LIS-maps knows of a good URL.
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
Rgds
