We always try and have a member of the exams staff on duty in the office for the whole time but on the odd occasions that that it is not possible, an exams officer will be present at the start and we ask the invigilator to give the papers directly to the security guard at the end of the exam who locks them up in the safe.
We try and work evening (and the odd Saturday) shifts on a rota basis, though some members of staff refuse or are not able to work out of normal hours (e.g. because of child care), so it does tend to fall on a small group of volunteers.
Kind regards

Dear All
I realise everyone is still very busy with exams, but I would appreciate your views on evening exams - how do you staff them (apart from the invigilator), is there a member of exams staff present for the start of the exam or for the whole session etc?
Many thanks
