Karen - I just went to a training on nvivo 2 and am planning on using it
for large qual data sets. Nvivo 2 can make use of quant items, and you
can input data directly into the program. There's also a lot of
flexibility re: managing data, making changes, etc. IN nvivo 2 that some
other qual software packages don't allow you to do. The coding and
analyses processes were straightforward, allow lots of hypotheses
building, and seem to use all of the functionality of windows
environments -- all of which make the software very intuitive. Nvivo 2
is really impressive.

Subject: Re: hello
How do you like the N*UDIST software? I'm doing qualitative research
with approx 350 questionnaires. There are several open-ended response
qualitative items, 20 Likert like items that can be quantitatively
analyzed, and a demographic section with a few basic questions.
I'm waivering between the N*UDIST program N6 or NVivo or the simstat QDA
Miner.
This is my doctoral dissertation project, so want to be sure I get the
right one. My school is fairly flexible re: my choice. Any comments
re:
reliability, ease of use, span of abilities on these?
Any feedback is greatly appreciated - Thanks!
