medieval-religion: Scholarly discussions of medieval religion and culture
Amen! You have no idea how many times I've heard the story retold about the day
I had a coffee cup in class, was standing up and slightly leaning forward.
When I went for a drink of coffee; My tie went into the cup, then cup, coffee
and all went into my mouth. Then there is my New England accent in
Pennsylvania, and the three days it took for students to figure out what I
meant when I said "pat'in" [pattern] or when I asked if everyone was going to
the "pawtty" [not potty, party!].
Laugh at me I'm a good sport! V. K. Inman
