Supporting diversity

Venue - Clifford Whitworth, Salford University
The aim of this day is to examine the issues of diversity as they affect academic libraries and
information workers. The day will be introduced by Will Reid, a Equal Opportunities Co-ordinator
from Liverpool John Moores University and will then take the form of a series of workshops examining
the following.
Supporting library users with dyslexia
Electronic access for all
Library services for deaf & hard of hearing people
Writing for equal opportunity
Cross cultural communication
Supporting users with visual impairments
Race equality action planning and implementation for libraries
Promoting best practice in the provision of services to disabled users of libraries.
Supporting students with Asperger's syndrome in HE
Each participant will attend 3 of the 9 workshops.

This should take you to a booking form. Please fill this in. The NoWAL office will contact you when
they have received your booking to confirm your place and to find out which workshops you wish to
attend. Workshop places will be allocated on a first come, first served basis.
Places cost 90 pounds per person for non-NoWAL members and 50 pounds per person for NoWAL members.
As always NoWAL welcomes bookings from staff working in all Library and Information sectors.
